Over a thousand people witnessed the full performance of Pink Floyd's "The Wall", complete with original set design: a white cardboard wall placed on the stage, a gong behind the drums, and a children's chorus. However, Pink Floyd Legend, the band's premier Italian tribute, was the one performing on stage, rather than the original band. The event is representative of a musical phenomenon that is becoming more common in our country. According to Il Post, Italy has hundreds of tribute bands, who resemble famous artists in their repertoire, attire, and even hairstyles. They range from bands dedicated to Vasco Rossi and Ligabue to those honoring Achille Lauro, Elodie, Iron Maiden, and Shakira. The most established ones may fill theaters and arenas with tickets for up to €60. For many musicians, it is a legitimate profession. Queen Mania's founder, Sonny Ensabella, told Il Post that "tribute acts offer a wonderful option for anyone who wants to make a source of income from music". His band, formed in 2005, is now his primary source of income, and he performs regularly around Europe, from Germany to Sweden, England to Spain.
