In 2025, the Italian video game market is worth around 2.4 billion euros, slightly down compared to the previous year (-1%). This is according to Ipsos' report "Video Games in Italy in 2025", which was developed for Iidea, the video game industry group. Software content accounts for 77% of overall revenues, or around €1.8 billion (-1%). The hardware sector exhibits contrasting trends: consoles increase by 3% to roughly €400 million, while accessories fall by 5% to €152 million. Italy has 14.2 million gamers, which is exactly the same as last year. However, the time spent playing video games is increasing, with an average of 7 hours and 53 minutes per week. Among men, engagement exceeds nine hours per week, while it is over five hours for women and can reach up to 15 hours for adolescents (12-17 years old). The audience is still primarily male (60%) and young, with over 60% of users under 35.
