While the global market for new boats is estimated to reach €33.3 billion by 2025 and is gradually stabilizing, the Italian shipbuilding industry has defied expectations, growing by 5% and solidifying its international leadership in the superyacht sector. This is according to the fourth edition of the report "The State of the Art of the Global Yachting Market", which was created by Deloitte in partnership with Confindustria Nautica. Large yachts and superyachts account for over 70% of Italian output, reaffirming the shipbuilding industry's focus on the high-end market. Italy's exports reached an all-time high of €4.4 billion, propelled by its global leadership in the superyacht market, where the domestic industry accounts for more than half of the total global order book. However, there are some concerns: in the United States, imports of Italian boats have decreased by 22%. The primary cause is connected to customs taxes. Looking ahead, a 3% yearly recovery is predicted between 2026 and 2029, despite international tensions and US tariffs creating uncertainty.
