Moments of great tension unfolded during the MotoGP Catalan Grand Prix, which was interrupted by a red flag after a violent crash on the main straight at the Montmeló circuit. Pedro Acosta, Alex Marquez, and eventual race winner Fabio Di Giannantonio were all involved. According to initial reports, Acosta's KTM experienced a sudden mechanical issue on the main straight. Alex Marquez, who was following at great speed, was unable to avoid the impact and collided with the Spaniard's bike head on. The Gresini team's Ducati was totally damaged in the incident. Marquez stayed on the ground following the crash, but according to race officials, he was conscious and was transported to the hospital for examination. Fabio Di Giannantonio was also involved, although he went back to the pits on his own despite considerable discomfort in his arm and finger. Following the restart, Johann Zarco, Francesco Bagnaia, and Luca Marini were involved in another multi-car incident. The Frenchman was taken to a medical facility, but his condition is not critical.
