Two iconic Made in Italy car brands—Itala and Osca—are about to make a comeback. They were purchased by the DR Group, an Italian-Asian holding firm managed by Massimo Di Risio, which began the HIB (Historic Italian Brands) project, known as "Fabbrica Italia". The project is predicated on the collaboration of Asian platforms with Italian automotive excellence, and it will be assembled in two new facilities in Molise. On the commercial front, 50 showrooms are scheduled to open by the end of 2026. Who are these brands? Itala was Europe's first premium brand, and the world's second, after Cadillac. It became famous for winning the 1907 Beijing–Paris rally, a 16,000 km journey, with the 35/45HP model. Osca (an acronym for Officine Specializzate Costruzione Automobili) is a racing legend: the Maserati brothers' vehicles dominated championships until the late 1960s, with drivers such as Stirling Moss.
