When we say "Made in Italy," we immediately think of fashion, gastronomy, and design. However, there is an Italian excellence that exports globally with equal success and with less fanfare: healthcare technologies and medical devices. Hospitalar 2026, Latin America's premier medical and hospital trade exhibition, is currently highlighting Made in Italy healthcare. The Italian Pavilion at the São Paulo Expo showcases four companies that specialize in diagnostics, medical devices, and innovative healthcare technologies. They are Eurospital, a company that specializes in clinical diagnostics and gastroenterology; For.Tec., which is involved in the development of technologies for the sustainable management of hospital waste; Lumed, which is dedicated to cardiology and cardiopulmonary diagnostics; and Sapi Med, a medical device manufacturer. The Brazilian market is not insignificant. Brazil is now Latin America's largest healthcare market, with more than 7,300 hospitals and medical gadget imports totaling $5 billion.
