AC Milan has gone through a full overhaul after failing to qualify for next season's Champions League. Club owner Gerry Cardinale has opted to reorganize the sporting department, announcing the departures of CEO Giorgio Furlani, sporting director Igli Tare, coach Massimiliano Allegri, and technical director Geoffrey Moncada. The club officially confirmed the decision in a statement, in which the owners described the recently finished season as "an unequivocal failure". Milan noted how, for much of the season, the team remained at the top of the league, keeping the Scudetto battle alive. However, the final collapse and defeat in the final match prompted the club to make a radical move. "After last season's disappointment, the owners' mandate was clear: return to the Champions League and build the foundations for consistent success at the top of Serie A", the club's statement stated. Cardinale has consequently decided to abandon the current managerial and coaching structures in order to embark on a new chapter of the Rossoneri project. The club thanked Furlani, Tare, Allegri, and Moncada "for their work and dedication", and announced that new appointments would be revealed in the coming weeks, with the goal of having a completely defined structure by the start of the next season.
