International travel increased by 8% over the previous year, reaching 157.2 million passengers (68% of total traffic). The European Union has the most traffic (43%), with Spain leading and Rome Fiumicino-Madrid Barajas being the most popular route. The breakdown of traffic by carrier type reveals that low-cost airlines transported 63% of total passengers, or 145.4 million (+6% compared to 2024), while traditional carriers carried 37%, or 84.3 million passengers (+3%).
