Piccolo Coro dell’Antoniano releases civic music project celebrating Italy’s Republic anniversary
The Piccolo Coro dell’Antoniano, conducted by Margherita Gamberini and distributed by Sony Music Italy, has released the official video for “La Repubblica è un grande coro” on YouTube. The song marks the upcoming 80th anniversary of the Italian Republic, which will be celebrated on June 2, 2026. The project combines music and civic education, aiming to highlight the history of the Republic and the values of the Italian Constitution through a choral experience designed for children. The track is available on all major digital platforms and is supported by downloadable educational materials, including lyrics, sheet music, backing tracks, and a teaching kit available via the Zecchino d’Oro website and email request. At the core of the initiative is the idea of the choir as a metaphor for democratic life: listening, collaboration, and participation are presented as essential elements of both music and citizenship. “Each voice is unique, but the result only comes when everyone is in harmony,” the project notes. Written by Angela Senatore with music by Lorenzo Tozzi, the song was developed with the contribution of the Antoniano and reflects a broader vision of civic education as a lived, everyday experience rather than an abstract concept. The project is also supported by Rai Radio Kids and Rai Radio Tutta Italiana, which will broadcast the song and feature related content across their programming.
