Andrea Cavicchi is the new president of Next Technology Tecnotessile, the national research company based in Prato specializing in technological development and operating on a European scale. The appointment was made by the company's shareholders as part of the new corporate structure, which sees Confindustria Toscana Nord expand its presence through its subsidiary Saperi, which has increased its stake to 51% after acquiring the 40% previously held by the Ministry of Universities and Research. The remaining 49% is controlled by private firms in the textile, textile machinery, apparel, logistics, and chemical industries. Cavicchi, a textile entrepreneur and architect, is president of the Small Industry Committee of Confindustria Toscana Nord and a member of the association's Presidential Council with responsibilities for education and Europe. He succeeds Massimo Biancalani.
