Climasandal is a new device that Geox has patented around the world to keep feet cool during hot summer days. The innovative sandal has a novel technology (Ventilated Cushioning System) that generates air by using the natural movement of the foot. The end product is a ventilation system built into the sandal's sole. No sensors, no batteries, simply applied engineering, the result of the efforts of a young team led by project manager Ivano Barbiero. "This idea began with an analysis of the new climate conditions of increasingly hotter and longer summers", reveals Geox CEO Mario Moretti Polegato. "Then we tested the foot's reaction and examined the materials used in sandals currently on the market. And we recognized how critical it was to implement an enhancement that would cool the foot". The result is a “pump”, essentially a soft cushion, placed beneath the heel and integrated into the insole. The air is then directed before exiting in a stream near the base of the toes, where micro-perforations have been formed. The result is a feeling of freshness that renews itself with each step.
