Italy has become Europe's top gambling waster, spending €21 billion in one year, net of wins. That surpasses the United Kingdom, Germany, and France. This figure is taken from a recently published report. A pile of money has been lost due to slot machines, quick lotteries, sports betting, internet casinos, and gambling applications, which have become commonplace. The data is included in the fourth edition of the Black Book on Gambling, which was published by CGIL, Federconsumatori, and Isscon and presented at the CGIL's national offices in Rome. The image that emerges is troubling: although wages and pensions are stagnant and purchasing power is falling, the gaming industry continues to expand uninterrupted.
