The 72nd edition of the festival in the spectacular Sicilian seaside city will run until June 14, 2026, with a program that includes cinema, television shows, music, and cultural events. Tiziana Rocca, the artistic director of the festival, officially introduced it at a press conference in Rome. She emphasized the participation of Oscar-nominated actors Clive Owen and Connie Nielsen, among others. Jane Campion will lead the international jury for the 2026 Taormina Film Festival, which will also include Holly Hunter, Miyako Bellizzi, Francine Maisler, Akinola Davies Jr., Sue Kroll, and Pietro Castellito. The patroness of the festival will be the actress Anna Valle. Among the most anticipated events is an evening devoted to Anna Magnani on June 11, 2026, when the restored version of Luchino Visconti's Bellissima will be screened within the Ancient Theatre. Helen Mirren will be honored at the Taormina Film Festival with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Russell Crowe will make his world premiere of his latest film, Bear Country, at the Ancient Theatre on Saturday, June 13.
