From the Leonardo supercomputer to the two new quantum computers: a billion-euro asset situated at the Bologna Technopole, a national and European supercomputing hub, and primarily funded by the NRRP. In addition to the aforementioned Leonardo, there is Lisa, which is dedicated to artificial intelligence; Gaia, which is a cloud computing platform; and Marco Polo, a specialized supercomputer dedicated to weather forecasting and astronomical research. Then there are Bologna's first two quantum computers, Nox and Sol, with one processor working at near-absolute zero temperatures and the other using laser technology. By the end of the year, a new machine will also be installed for use by the AI Factory.
