Transmitting "live" updates on the fieldwork of archaeologists, restorers, architects, and engineers, as well as opening restoration sites and artifact repositories to the public, with the objective of creating inclusive and accessible environments for visitors to interact with archaeological and research sites. Thus, the Archaeological Park of Pompeii will take part in the European Archaeology Days (EADs) this year, which will be held across Europe on Friday, June 12th, Saturday, June 13th, and Sunday, June 14th. This year's subject is "Archaeology in the Making". At its foundation is the archaeological research process, which emphasizes the behind-the-scenes features of the work—sites, warehouses, depots, laboratories, archives, and libraries—as venues for knowledge, narrative, and involvement by opening operating environments to the public. In complete accordance with the Days' principal focus, the Archaeological Park of Pompeii provides tours of excavation and restoration sites, as well as artifact depots. The safety, consolidation, and restoration project for Pompeii's Insula Meridionalis, one of the archaeological site's most complex areas. Located along the Viale delle Ginestre at the entrance, the area once overlooked the Gulf of Naples and the Sarno Valley, represents an extremely complex construction site due to the area's morphology and the type of buildings under construction. Tours are guided by archeologist Antonino Russo.
