The holiday season has officially begun with the conclusion of the school year and the coming of the first actual summer weekend. Forecasts for June show a good trend in Italian tourism, fueled mostly by domestic demand and a consistent influx of overseas visitors. According to projections compiled by the Florence Tourism Research Center for Assoturismo Confesercenti, approximately 67 million overnight stays will be recorded in Italian lodgings this month, including hotels, campgrounds, bed and breakfasts, and short-term rentals. This reflects an increase over the same period last year, underlining the sector's strategic importance in the national economy. The Italian component seems to be the most lively. Domestic arrivals are likely to top 8 million, with resident tourist stays exceeding 27 million. This rise is fueled by the demand for vacation and the preference of many families to spend their holidays in Italy. Besides that, international tourism remains a critical factor. Nearly 40 million foreign visitors are expected in June, accounting for roughly 60% of total overnight stays. Despite moderate development, the international market reinforces Italy's appeal as a top destination due to its artistic, cultural, and scenic legacy. Overall, tourist arrivals for the month are likely to total around 19 million. Industry professionals are optimistic about this data, which come after years of major shifts in travel patterns and booking techniques.
