For those who have opted to spend their vacations in Italy, summer 2026 may be more expensive than imagined. According to a research compiled by Assoutenti, holiday prices are rising significantly, particularly in the most popular seaside locations, with growth affecting accommodation, ferries, and a wide range of tourism services. The international condition is one of the variables that influence the market. The Middle East crisis has altered many families' travel preferences, prompting an increasing number of Italians to select domestic vacations over traditional international destinations. This increased demand has restricted supplies, resulting in higher pricing. According to estimates, a family of two adults and two children may spend more than €2,000 on a week-long vacation in a mid-range house in mid-August. This is a considerable increase over last year. However, disparities across places remain noticeable. Some sites on the Romagna Riviera continue to have relatively inexpensive pricing, while rates in Veneto are higher. Spending is even more difficult in some of the most popular places in the South and the islands, with Sardinia being particularly expensive. While the expense of holidays in Italy is increasing, there are some encouraging signals for those who want to travel abroad. The downturn in worldwide demand has resulted in lower airfares to various tourist locations. Flights to Greece, Spain, Egypt, and other Mediterranean destinations tend to be less expensive than last summer, as are several long-distance trips.
