Bologna is initiating a unique program in Italy to retain young talent while also addressing the housing crisis. The project aims to help 333 recent ITS graduates and graduates hired in the city by providing financial assistance to cover housing costs during their first year of employment, thereby alleviating the local businesses' apparent scarcity of skilled personnel. The plan, which results from a partnership between the Chamber of Commerce and banks, offers a financial package of up to €10,000 in total. This package includes €3,000 in a non-repayable lump sum grant (thanks to a €1 million allocation from the Chamber of Commerce) and €7,000 in an interest-free loan that is repayable over five years without personal guarantees, with the sole requirement of salary payment. Requirements: The call is accessible to graduates of the University of Bologna and provincial ITS Academies who have completed their degrees within the last six months. They must have been contracted by a Bologna-based company on a permanent or fixed-term contract (for at least 12 months) between March 1st and October 16th, 2026. Applications will be open from September 15th to October 16th, 2026.
