Ruben Amorim is AC Milan's new coach. The 41-year-old Portuguese coach just signed a contract that will keep him at the Rossoneri until 2028, with the possibility for an extra season. The financial agreement includes a salary of over €3.5 million net every season, as well as performance-related bonuses of around €1 million for winning the Scudetto and half that amount for qualifying for the UEFA Champions League. Amorim's arrival in Milan has yet to be officially confirmed, although his employment is also subject to the club's new management structure being approved. AC Milan is now seeking to appoint Markus Krösche as their new technical director. Krösche is currently under contract with Eintracht Frankfurt until 2028, and there are no formal discussions between the two organizations regarding his early release. Eintracht's attitude remains firm: the German club is not in a hurry to sell its manager and is only considering an exit in exchange for financial recompense, which may include Timmo Hardung, who has been mentioned as a potential future sports director at AC Milan. Despite the fact that management is still in its early stages, Krösche and Amorim are already in direct communication and share a vision for the technical project, which is driving internal debates at AC Milan. Operationally, the incoming coach will bring his own coaching staff with him. Carlos Fernandes, Emanuel Ferro, Adélio Cândido, and Jorge Vital, a long-time goalkeeping coach who has worked with Amorim since his days at Braga, are expected in Milan. Tactically, the Rossoneri effort will build on the concepts established by the Portuguese coach. Amorim consistently uses three-man defense systems, with a particular emphasis on the 3-4-2-1 and 3-4-3 formations that were prevalent during his tenure at Sporting Lisbon. His approach does not rely on frequent tactical adjustments according to the opponent but rather on a structured and clearly identifiable playing philosophy, an identity that Milan now intends to bring into the context of Serie A.
