The strategic partnership between EDGE and Leonardo is moving forward at a rapid pace. The two defense giants have announced the details for the upcoming establishment of a Joint Venture (JV), which is poised to become a new global benchmark in the development, production, and support of next-generation sensors and radar systems. The new industrial entity will focus on high-value strategic technologies. These include airborne radars for next-generation stealth platforms, the Kronos Grand Mobile High-Power (HP) radar, advanced Combat Management Systems (CMS), and specialized sensors for multi-mission aircraft. Additionally, the Joint Venture will serve as a commercial platform to promote and market the M-346 fighter/trainer aircraft across European and international markets. The agreement combines Leonardo’s decades of technological excellence and expertise with EDGE’s industrial capacity, agility, and access to global markets. Financial forecasts confirm the solid scope of the operation, with expected orders projected to exceed four billion euros over the next five years. Hamad Al Marar, Managing Director and CEO of EDGE, emphasized that this synergy will allow cutting-edge technologies to reach clients much faster. This vision is shared by Lorenzo Mariani, Co-General Manager of Leonardo, who stated: "Strategic industrial partnerships are key to shaping the future of global defense. Together with EDGE, we will set new standards of technological excellence and industrial solidity, creating a successful benchmark with a shared, long-term vision."
