The Czech Republic Grand Prix weekend ended in the worst possible way for Marco Bezzecchi. The championship leader was forced to skip Sunday's race due to his disqualification in Saturday's Sprint. Immediately after a crash, visibly frustrated, the Aprilia rider ran toward his motorcycle and struck a track marshal with a slap to the face. Although Aprilia first challenged the incident, citing the marshal's improper conduct, Bezzecchi later turned to social media to publicly apologize, accepting full responsibility for the incident and thanked the marshals for their valuable and laborious daily job to protect rider safety. For his part, the marshal involved sought to calm the situation, saying he felt at ease after the initial shock, which had been amplified by the widespread circulation of the video online. The marshal justified the accident, stating that the bike had been left running and that when he tried to move it by pushing the clutch, it revved up, leading the rider to believe it was purposeful. "I realize how stressful it is to fall. Marco came to apologize in person before sharing his message on social media, which means a lot to me. Everything is good with me, and I wish him the best", the commissioner said, officially concluding the matter.
