Fresh tensions are emerging between Washington and its European allies. Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, U.S. President Donald Trump sharply criticized several NATO partners, accusing them of failing to provide adequate support to the United States during critical phases of recent international crises.
Among those singled out were British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and the governments of Italy and Germany. Trump expressed frustration with what he described as a lack of commitment from London and reserved particularly harsh criticism for Rome, claiming that Italy had behaved "very badly."
The remarks add to an already strained relationship between the White House and the government of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. In recent months, bilateral ties have cooled significantly, highlighting growing differences over international strategy and the role of Western allies in responding to global challenges.
