Italy has once again postponed the introduction of a tax on small parcels arriving from outside the European Union. The Council of Ministers has approved a three-month delay, pushing the measure's implementation date to October 1.
The provision is included in the government's new Infrastructure Decree, a wide-ranging package that covers major public works, the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), and initiatives related to artificial intelligence.
Officials say the postponement will give businesses additional time to adapt to the new regulations while discussions continue with industry representatives and European institutions.
