The jury consists of Kaouther Ben Hania, Daniel Blumberg, Francesco Casetti, Xavier Giannoli, Shahrbanoo Sadat, and Johnnie To. The Biennale Board of Directors took the decision based on Director Alberto Barbera's advice. The jury will present official prizes to the feature films in competition, with no ties allowed. The awards include the Golden Lion for Best Film, the Silver Lion – Grand Jury Prize, and the Silver Lion for Best Director. The Volpi Cups for Acting, the Special Jury Prize, the prize for Best Screenplay, and the Marcello Mastroianni prize for Best Emerging Actor are also presented. Last year, the international jury chaired by American director Alexander Payne awarded the Golden Lion to Jim Jarmusch's film "Father, Mother, Sister, Brother", and the Silver Lion to Kawthar ibn Haniyya's film "The Voice of Hind Rajab".
