The Al Thani royal family, which has governed Qatar for more than 150 years, will acquire Silvio Berlusconi's renowned summer residence in Gallura, marking a significant turning point for Villa Certosa. Fininvest, through its subsidiary Immobiliare Idra, confirmed that it had accepted a binding bid from Constellation Hotels Holding, a Luxembourg-based company that is the Qatari dynasty's real estate arm. Rumors predict a sale worth €350 million. After years of speculation involving the Sultan of Brunei and major hotel chains, the sale is now considered certain. With this acquisition, Qatar’s royal family further strengthens its significant presence in Sardinia, where it already controls major Costa Smeralda assets and the Mater Olbia Hospital. Overlooking the Gulf of Marinella, the majestic ultra-luxury property is renowned worldwide for its size and eccentric amenities: an enormous park with seven guest villas, seven swimming pools, soccer fields and golf courses, a spa, a heliport, and even an artificial volcano with an adjacent underground bunker. One of the most iconic mansions in recent Italian history is about to officially change hands.
