Rome Fiumicino is Europe's best airport, cementing its place at the forefront of international aviation travel. Leonardo da Vinci Airport has won the ACI EUROPE Best Airport Award 2026 in the category of airports with more than 40 million passengers for the eighth time since 2018, and the fifth year in a row. The award, sponsored by ACI EUROPE, the international association representing European airports, was presented yesterday evening at the Annual Congress in Prague, where European airports were recognized for their staff excellence, digital transformation, and airport infrastructure sustainability. An independent panel of eight aviation industry representatives, including the European Commission, EUROCONTROL, EASA, ECAC, and the SESAR Joint Undertaking, reviewed the awards.
