Defense, energy, space, and geopolitics: Antibes' international meeting revitalizes the Italian-French axis. "We are two founding nations with converging interests", Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni stated beside Emmanuel Macron. The two leaders denied any mutual problems. “We had a laugh reading the behind-the-scenes stories,” Meloni joked. “Our relationship is serious, not frosty". Macron reiterated, "We defend our countries with respect. We have established strong convergences". The summit resulted in tangible actions, including the establishment of a bilateral committee for defense industrial strategy. This committee will coordinate joint weapons programs (such as the SAMP-T anti-missile systems) and provide support for Ukraine. Also important were the space dossiers, characterized as "a historic driving force for Europe", and energy: Macron expressed delight with Italy's legislative procedure to restart nuclear power. On the international level, Lebanon's plan stands out: after the UNIFIL mission expires at the end of the year, the two nations will form a support coalition and hold an international conference. Finally, Meloni spoke on French domestic politics and Marine Le Pen's judicial troubles: "I respect those who have the consent of the citizens; that's how democracy works", she said. "I do not tell the French what is best for them, and I did not appreciate it when others did the same to me".
