On the tenth anniversary of the tragic terrorist attack at the Holey Artisan Bakery in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Italian President Sergio Mattarella extended his deepest condolences and solidarity to the victims' families. Nine Italian citizens were among the twenty civilians killed in the brutal 2016 assault. "The terrorists aimed to sow hatred and fuel divisions," the Head of State declared, noting that the attack instead achieved the exact opposite by strengthening international solidarity and intercultural dialogue. Mattarella reaffirmed Italy's unwavering commitment to combating global terrorism in order to build safe, open, and cohesive societies.
