St Peter's Pence, the global fund that collects donations from the faithful to support the Pope's universal mission and finance charitable works for those most in need, has recorded more balanced accounts. According to the 2025 Annual Report, the Fund's revenues were €57.6 million, with expenditures of €59.8 million. The financial records show significant stability in income compared to the previous year, when they stood at €58 million, but most importantly, a remarkable decrease in expenses, which in 2024 reached €75.4 million. In terms of administration, Peter's Pence distributed contributions totaling €54.5 million. The majority of the funds, €41.2 million, were used to run the Holy See's machinery that supports the Pontiff's apostolic ministry, with the remaining €13.3 million going directly to solidarity programs. These funds have served to increase the Church's evangelistic presence and support substantial social actions in impoverished or emergency situations. Dioceses worldwide are the primary source of the donor network, contributing 63.6% of the total revenue through parish collections for the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul. Private contributions, foundations, religious institutions, and bequests follow. The United States leads the worldwide generosity map, accounting for 26.1% of all donations, followed by Italy, Brazil, the Republic of Korea, Germany, France, and Spain. Thanks to this network of solidarity, 252 projects in 74 countries were supported in 2025, with a notable concentration in Africa, Asia, and Europe. The provision of scholarships at pontifical universities for priests and seminarians from developing countries, assistance to parishes that are struggling, and the ongoing provision of extraordinary humanitarian aid to support the Ukrainian population that has been impacted by the conflict are among the key interventions.
