In 2025, the digital market in Italy grew by 3.4% over the previous year, reaching €84.4 billion. This growth exceeds the national GDP and demonstrates varying trends across sectors. This is clear in the "Digital in Italy 2026" report, which was given to the Chamber of Deputies by Anitec-Assinform, the Confindustria association that represents key digital enterprises. The most notable increase was in ICT Services, which reached €18.8 billion (+8.1%), owing to the advancement of Artificial Intelligence, cybersecurity, and cloud solutions. Positive trends were also observed in ICT Software and Solutions at €9.8 billion (+4.1%) and Digital Content and Advertising at €16.9 billion (+4.8%). The Devices and Systems sector also remained positive, with €20.6 billion (+1.8%), although TLC Network Services fell by 0.7% to €18.3 billion due to intense competition. Spending on AI technology totaled €1.38 billion (+47.6%). Big Data & Analytics totaled €2.1 billion (+10.4%), while the IoT (Internet of Things) market increased to €5.1 billion (+7%). Overall, the ICT ecosystem has 132,832 enterprises and 638,150 employees; in the first half of 2026, there were 10,754 creative ICT startups and SMEs, employing over 52,000 people.
