Eighty years of Italian literature and a milestone that Rome intends to commemorate alongside its citizens: the Strega Prize arrives today in Piazza del Campidoglio for the final evening of its 80th edition, and Rome Capitale has decided to make the event open to all: not just those attending the awards ceremony, but anyone who wishes to experience the emotion of the moment. While the most coveted prize in Italian literature is granted at the Campidoglio, the final evening, when the winner is announced, will be livestreamed in four sites throughout the city. The screenings will take place at the Casa del Cinema, the Corviale Arena, the Parco degli Acquedotti Arena, and the MACRO, Rome's Museum of Contemporary Art. All screenings start at 11:00 p.m. Admission is free (subject to availability). As a result, the Strega Prize is accessible to all areas of the city, with the objective of transforming Italy's most renowned literary award into a participatory and shared experience.
