Obesity among women aged 18 to 34 has climbed by 75% in the last decade, from 3.6% in 2016 to 6.3% today. Among men of the same age group, the increase recorded was 35%, with the prevalence rising from 4.6% to 6.2%. This is evidenced by the 2025 data from Istat, the Italian National Institute of Statistics, regarding the epidemiology of obesity in Italy, which was presented at the eighth Italian Barometer Obesity Forum. The figures among young people is particularly alarming: in Italy, more than one in every four children aged three to seventeen (26.0%) is overweight, with a peak of 32.3% among those aged three to ten.
