In Italian amateur soccer, women still account for only 12.3% of coaching positions. According to Golee, the foremost Italian platform for the digital administration of amateur sports associations and clubs, this is the case. However, a statistic that indicates a change pertains to the younger generation: the proportion of women on coaching staff is increasing considerably among those under 24, with a proportion of 27% of the 18-24 age group. Another consideration is age. The Italian coach's profile was constructed by cross-referencing data from its platform with responses from a survey of amateur soccer coaches and managers: a middle-aged male. Nearly half of all coaches (48.6%) are over the age of 45, with the 45-54 age group having the highest representation. This data reveals a system built on the experience and dedication of thousands of coaches who keep grassroots soccer alive every week.
