Floral designs, voluminous shapes, and bright colors celebrate the Mediterranean climate, history, and myths, as do lace, veils, and black, opaque gowns inspired by a Sicilian image that may still be found in some villages on the island. On the slopes of Mount Etna, another chapter of "The Sicilian Dream" trilogy took place, Stefano Dolce and Domenico Gabbana's project featuring the collection entitled "The Devoted Goddesses of Olympus". Among the models - part Olympian goddesses, part Sicilian widows - was Léonie Cassel, daughter of Monica Bellucci and Vincent Cassel (or a "nepo baby", as the more mischievous might say), who opened the show. She walked through the Radicepura Botanical Park in Giarre along with her colleagues, a green oasis known for its flower cultivation that also houses the 19th-century Palazzo Nobiliare, which was used in Francis Ford Coppola's "The Godfather: Part II". A setting steeped in legend, perfectly reflecting the leitmotif of the show, summed up by the voice-over accompanying the presentation: "There are places that belong to men. And there are dwellings that belong to the gods. However, on certain nights, myth chooses to come closer to Earth. Nights when the gods leave the heavens and descend to the heart of the Mediterranean, in Sicily". And there were plenty of "stars" in the crowd last night: in addition to Norwegian footballer Erling Haaland, who arrived with his girlfriend Isabel Haugseng and teammate Sander Berge, Jennifer Lopez, Theo James, Michele Morrone, and, of course, Monica Bellucci, who came to cheer on her youngest daughter, were all spotted in Taormina in recent days.
