Culture and beauty are defining features deeply rooted in Italian society and the economy. Data from the sixteenth edition of the Report, compiled by Unioncamere, Fondazione Symbola, and Deloitte, reveal that culture is a key economic driver, a critical area for jobs, wealth, and innovation. In 2025, the culture sector created €115.8 billion in added value, accounting for 5.7% of the economy and growing at a rate of 3.3% annually. Employment reached 1.54 million, accounting for 5.7% of the total, a rise of 1.7%. Each euro created by the cultural sector creates an additional €1.7 in the rest of the economy, totaling €310 billion, or 15.4% of GDP. The regional research confirms the substantial concentration of activity in the Center-North and large metropolitan areas, but it also emphasizes local communities' developing ability to use culture as a distinguishing feature of their growth model.
