"We continue to be concerned about what is happening in countries ripped apart by war and bloodshed. Let us not forget those who suffer and die as a result of conflict, and let us join our constant prayers with our generous commitment to peace". Pope Leo XIV said this following the Angelus, which was recited yesterday in Castel Gandolfo's Piazza della Libertà. At the end of the prayer, the Pontiff greeted the faithful, travelling among the crowd in a golf cart to shake hands and bless children. Many pilgrims hung banners at Castel Gandolfo, some with Ukrainian, Brazilian, and Spanish flags. Before leaving the area, the Pope approached a boy sporting Messi's Argentina shirt and greeted him.
