A nationwide police operation targeting youth crime across 44 Italian provinces resulted in 539 arrests, including 47 minors. Officers also identified 973 social media profiles promoting hate speech, physical violence and the use of firearms and knives, including content targeting law enforcement officers. Overall, 954 people were reported to judicial authorities, 703 kilograms of narcotics were seized and 1,182 properties were searched. Two of the social media profiles were referred to prosecutors for possible takedown orders. Police also confiscated about €300,000 in cash, 49 firearms and 87 other weapons. Nearly 190,000 people were stopped and identified in areas known for drug dealing and nightlife. Officers seized 41 kilograms of cocaine, 660 kilograms of cannabis products, 2 kilograms of ketamine and around 1,000 oxycodone tablets. They also recovered quantities of other narcotic and psychotropic substances, including shaboo, ecstasy, MDMA and benzodiazepines, together with several precision scales.
