Fiorentina have officially launched celebrations marking the club's centenary with the unveiling of a special commemorative postage stamp at the Viola Park training centre. The event featured the first official postal cancellation of the stamp, which has been issued in a limited run of 300,015 copies and will be distributed throughout Italy. The commemorative stamp marks the opening of a programme of events leading up to the club's 100th anniversary, celebrating one of the most enduring symbols of both Florentine sport and the city itself. The celebrations will reach their climax on 29 August, the anniversary of Fiorentina's foundation, when the Viola face Frosinone at the Artemio Franchi Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 6.30 p.m.
