A new survey by Holidu, a European vacation rental booking service, has identified the most popular coasts. The top 30 beaches in Italy are determined by user ratings and reviews on Google Maps. The public's verdict confirms unprecedented stability at the top, with the podium remaining intact from last season. The gorgeous Rabbit Beach on Lampedusa earns first position with a near-perfect rating of 4.9 out of 5. The silver medal goes to Sardinia's Cala Mariolu in Baunei, while the legendary Tuerredda Beach in Teulada takes third place with almost 17,500 reviews, the most in the entire ranking. Sardinia reaffirms its status as the undisputed queen of Italian seaside tourism, with 20 locations in the top 30. Other island gems such as Is Arutas and Porto Giunco make the top five, with Cala Goloritzé gaining ground and Cala li Cossi standing out as the clear climber. In addition to Sardinia's domination and Sicily's lead, which includes its crown gem Lampedusa, the ranking shows an interesting rise for Tuscany and Liguria. Tuscany tripled its presence with the addition of Cala Mar Morto on Monte Argentario and Fetovaia on the island of Elba, joining Cavoli, while Liguria doubled its representation with Varigotti alongside the historic Boccadasse. Calabria retains its position with Arcomagno and Tropea, and Campania with the Bagni Regina Giovanna in Sorrento, while Puglia falls, with only the Porto Selvaggio reserve remaining on the list.
