At the heart of the crackdown are the Faraglioni themselves, long swamped by commercial tour operators steering motorized craft right up to the cliffs and encroaching on swimmer safety zones. Local authorities are putting an end to the reckless behavior with rigorous new measures, including floating barriers, perimeter buoys, and strict maritime patrols.

Under the new regulations, motorized craft are strictly prohibited from approaching the sea stacks.
