The initiative to construct the new stadium for AS Roma is currently in its final stages. Special Commissioner Massimo Sessa has described the plan, with a mid-September deadline for completing the administrative process and a goal of laying the first stone in April. The infrastructure, which has been designated as a project of national strategic priority, will benefit from a 100-day accelerated permission process. The Friedkin family is expected to invest around €1 billion privately, with an additional €105 million in public infrastructure and urban development. At a meeting attended by Mayor Roberto Gualtieri, Regional President Francesco Rocca, and Ministers Salvini and Abodi, the institutions acknowledged their complete agreement. The main focus is on traffic management and archaeological preservation. To assure long-term attendance, the Ministry of Infrastructure and State Railways will invest €35 million in upgrading the neighboring Tiburtina station, which will serve as the primary rail hub for fans, complete with a dedicated pedestrian walkway.
