The Pope is boosting the supply of food, medication, and humanitarian aid, which he is distributing through the Dicastery for the Service of Charity to suffering populations all around the world. This aid has been dispatched and distributed relentlessly to the people of war-torn Ukraine since the beginning of the war, as well as the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, where news was received of an aid shipment containing approximately 15,000 packages of essential medicines for the population. Africa is where the Church's benevolence is most effective. In Burkina Faso, in the Diocese of Ouahigouya, a contribution was sent in early July to support a medical project for displaced people and the needy, while in Kenya, at the St. Angela Embu Children's Home, Vatican support is assisting in the development of children who were abandoned and raised on the streets before ever having a normal childhood: now they find acceptance, inclusion, a regular meal, and an education. And in Madagascar, the Archdiocese of Toamasina requested assistance following the devastation caused by Cyclone Gezani on February 10th; the Holy Father's Charitable Fund is distributing food and reconstructing homes. Finally, in Zambia, where a drought in early July damaged crops and left entire families without food, the Vatican "adopted" ninety children who will no longer have to go to school on an empty stomach.
