The life of Giorgio Armani will be told in a new television series written and directed by Ferzan Özpetek. A writer who was intimately acquainted with the iconic designer, who passed away last September at the age of 91, will bring his career, insights, and accomplishments to the screen. The idea was announced to Variety, and Ozpetek spoke about his conversations with Armani regarding movies and art in general. The Turkish-born Italian director returns to television after "Le fate ignoranti" (2022), which debuted on Disney+. The series, which has not yet been given a title, will be produced by Lux Vide, part of the Fremantle group, with Francesco Arlanch serving as co-writer. The Giorgio Armani design business will also support the series, bringing the global ambassador of Italian elegance back into the spotlight.
