In 2026, Asiago DOP Prodotto della Montagna will celebrate the twentieth anniversary of its "special mention", with a 7.5% increase in production in the first half of the year and approximately 30% growth over the previous decade. This distinction is only for cheeses produced and processed above 600 meters above sea level between Veneto and Trentino, in the Altopiano dei Sette Comuni, Europe's largest Alpine grazing sector. The Protection Consortium's tight criteria ensure the cheese's quality, as it combines high-altitude pastures and Alpine flower essences to protect biodiversity and help dairy farmers' rural economies. To celebrate this milestone and encourage tourism centered on local specialties, the "Made in Malga" event returns in September, transforming the plateau into a culinary exhibition complete with guided tours and unique wine pairing.
