On the occasion of the Italian Grand Prix in Monza, Ferrari is celebrating one of the most significant chapters in its history, 30 years after Michael Schumacher’s first season in Maranello. The German joined the team in 1996 and played a key role over the next decade in transforming the squad and propelling it to unprecedented success. Schumacher arrived in Maranello as a two-time world champion, and he immediately began a path that would become inextricably linked with Ferrari's modern era. In his eleven seasons with the team, Schumacher played a significant role in Ferrari's return to the summit of Formula 1. From 1999 to 2004, the team won six consecutive Constructors' titles, and Michael won five consecutive Drivers' World Championships from 2000 to 2004. For this, the SF-26s driven by Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton will race at Monza in a special livery inspired by Michael's Ferrari F310, with which he began his adventure in 1996: the car will be predominately red, with white parts on the wings and black details. The tribute goes beyond the cars: the drivers will wear a special uniform, as will the entire crew on Sunday, and shoes, overalls, and gloves will be custom tailored for the occasion. The two drivers will also wear special helmets, providing a visual link between the Ferrari of 1996 and the Scuderia of today.
