Fuel costs continue to rise, and Italian motorists were heavily impacted in August. This is an expected increase of around €1.1 billion, or a 26% increase over the previous year. A figure that is especially noticeable in August, a month known for increased car traffic as summer vacationers left and returned. Experts note that the problem is now structural rather than simply a result of market volatility, and they advocate for tailored efforts to limit the impact on family finances. Meanwhile, among the most expensive roads for refuelling is the Brenner Motorway, where Italy’s highest diesel price is recorded, at more than €3 per litre.
