The Gulf of Naples will host the second Louis Vuitton Preliminary Regatta of the 38th America’s Cup from September 24 to 27, 2026, with nine teams competing aboard AC40 foiling boats used for the preliminary series. The event will mark the first competitive regatta on the course that will host the America’s Cup Match itself in 2027. For the first time in this cycle, the American team, American Magic, will also take part. The regatta represents the first major operational test ahead of the 2027 edition, when Naples will make history by hosting the decisive stage of the world’s oldest international sailing competition. Teams will be based in the Nisida area while work continues on the permanent infrastructure at Bagnoli. Naples’ waterfront will serve as the heart of the event, with free public access from several panoramic points overlooking the Gulf. The September regatta is therefore set to offer a first glimpse of what the city can expect when it becomes the center of the America’s Cup in 2027.
