A bridge between Italy and the United States to make the documentary heritage of the Renaissance increasingly accessible. This is the goal of a collaboration agreement signed by the Directorate General of Archives of the Ministry of Culture, the University of California, Irvine, and the CINECA Interuniversity Consortium to create and disseminate the IDEA - Isabella d'Este Archive project. The agreement centers on the digital valorization of one of the most important documentation collections of the Italian Renaissance: Isabella d'Este's correspondence, which is housed in the State Archives of Mantua. The IDEA Letters project will expand, describe, and make available online thousands of previously digitized letters and papers, expanding the possibilities for international study and research. The agreement allows for the release and use of digital images of the project's papers, as well as their protection and proper usage in compliance with current legislation. This program is part of the Ministry of Culture's broader digitalization of archive heritage, with the goal of enabling more widespread, innovative, and informed use.
