London Albion City is a soccer team founded by two young Italians: 22-year-old Roman Gregorio Desario and Genoa native Lorenzo Coppello. The project, which began on social media in May as a gamble, swiftly blossomed into a full-fledged soccer team, ready to play its debut season in the English amateur league system. The club's name is what makes it special. London Albion City is the first soccer club to use the word "London" explicitly in its name. This choice deviates from the history of big clubs in the British capital, which are typically associated with a specific neighborhood or part of the city. Examples include Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, West Ham, Fulham, and Crystal Palace. The project's initial success was driven primarily by social media. Within weeks of its establishment, when the founders held the first auditions to recruit players for the squad, around 800 candidates applied. London Albion City made its debut in England's seventh amateur tier. It's the first step in what the business hopes will be a much more ambitious rise. The declared aim is to play professional soccer within ten years, while also dealing with all of the sporting, financial, and organizational problems that come with starting a new club.
