Italian corporations continue to make significant investments in artificial intelligence. According to SAP and Oxford Economics study, Italian companies want to invest an average of $18.4 million in AI this year, which is currently lower than the global average of $28 million but is expected to increase by 45% over the next two years. The return on investment is also encouraging: Italian businesses anticipate a 20% increase this year, totaling $4.9 million, with growth predicted to reach 38% within two years. This scenario relies heavily on agentic AI. However, several major challenges remain: data quality remains the most significant challenge, with 74% of businesses reporting issues connected to untrustworthy information, which slows down production processes. On the public front, €30 billion in public and private financing has been allocated to European AI gigafactories, indicating a rising continent-wide commitment to the creation of crucial AI infrastructure.
